Major changes for Packaging Producers
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations came into force in January 2023, succeeding the previous "Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007".
These regulations place greater obligations on producers of packaging, obliging them to take responsibility for the environmental impact of the packaging they supply and requiring them to pay for the collection and disposal costs of this packaging when it becomes waste. In providing these financial incentives, the goal ultimately is to reduce the amount of packaging they supply and improve the recyclability of their packaging.
Greenstreets offers a range of options from simple advice on what you need to know about Packaging, Electronics and other EPR waste streams to a complete turnkey service, where all aspects of data collection and reporting are managed on your behalf. This allows your team to focus on what you do best. We can also help if your business is exporting to Europe or other international destinations.
